Zendesk Pricing in 2026: Plans, the AI Meter, and What a Team Actually Pays
Zendesk's 2026 plans from $19 to $115 an agent, the add-ons that stack on top, and the AI meter whose rate Zendesk does not publish anywhere.
- Current Zendesk plans run $19 (Support Team) to $115 (Suite Professional) per agent per month billed annually; monthly billing runs about 30 percent higher; Enterprise is quote-only.
- The AI meter is real but the rate is not published: every plan includes an automated-resolution allocation, overage is metered, and third-party reporting puts the rate around $1.50 to $2.00 per resolution.
- Support Team has sat at $19 for six years while the Suite ladder climbed and the money moved into add-ons and the meter. For comparison, Drag runs $12 to $24, AI included, no meter, and $24 is the most it ever costs.
Table of contents
Zendesk pricing in 2026 runs from $19 per agent per month for Support Team to $115 for Suite Professional on annual billing, with a quote-only Enterprise above and a stack of $50-plus add-ons beside it. The seat price is the easy part. The bill has two other layers most pricing pages skip: every plan includes an allocation of automated AI resolutions and meters overage beyond it, at a rate Zendesk does not publish, and the add-ons, Copilot at $50, Workforce Engagement at $50, Contact Center at $83, can double a seat before anyone notices. This page lays out all three layers, with five years of archived pricing behind them.
What Zendesk costs in 2026
Three plans carry a public price. The fourth does not.
| Plan | Annual | Monthly | Sold as |
|---|---|---|---|
| Support Team | $19 /agent/mo | $25 | Email and ticketing essentials |
| Suite Team | $55 /agent/mo | $69 | Adds omnichannel, AI agents, messaging, telephony |
| Suite Professional ("Most Popular") | $115 /agent/mo | $149 | Adds admin Copilot, skills routing, IVR, quick reports |
| Suite Enterprise + Copilot | quote only | quote only | "Talk to Sales"; governance, sandbox, custom roles |
Figures from Zendesk's own pricing page, captured July 2026. Zendesk geo-serves its pricing page and renders it in the browser, so the USD figures here come from the page's own multi-currency data rather than from what a visitor happens to be shown. Suite Enterprise carries an internal $169 figure flagged as not-for-display, which is why it is quoted rather than listed, and why it is left out of every comparison below.
Then the add-ons, which is where a Zendesk quote usually grows:
| Add-on | Price |
|---|---|
| Copilot | $50 /agent/mo paid yearly |
| Workforce Engagement Bundle | $50 /agent/mo paid yearly |
| Contact Center | $83 /agent/mo paid yearly |
Worth being precise here, because most pages covering this search are not: several quote $25 and $35 line items that do not match Zendesk's own published bundles. The three figures above are Zendesk's, from the same capture. A Suite Professional seat with Copilot attached is $165 an agent before anything is metered.
There is no free plan and never has been, only a trial. The one adjacent path is Zendesk for Startups, a 6-month Suite trial for up to 50 agents for eligible early-stage companies.
One detail worth keeping for later: Zendesk sells Support Team as a plan "for teams that have outgrown a shared inbox." Their words, and we will come back to them.
The AI meter, and the number Zendesk does not publish
Here is the part every pricing page on this search skips: Zendesk's AI does not simply bill per resolution from the first ticket. Every plan carries an included allocation of automated resolutions, and the meter starts when you pass it. What the meter charges is the one number Zendesk does not publish; third-party reporting puts it around $1.50 to $2.00 per resolution. For budgeting, that means two questions, not one: how big is your plan's allocation, and what happens to your bill the month a chatbot has a busy week. Ask for both numbers in writing before you sign.
How the counter works, from Zendesk's own documentation (captured June 2025): an automated resolution is counted when a customer's issue is resolved with no live-agent involvement, and it is counted per conversation, not per customer. One person reaching you across two channels, or from two devices, is two interactions. The rules differ by channel, covering AI agents for messaging, autoreplies with articles, autoreplies driven by intelligent triage, and the classic Web Widget, and the document lists actions that do not count. What it never states is a price. That is not an oversight in our reading of it: the rate is a commercial term, negotiated per contract, which is exactly why it is worth pinning down before you sign rather than after.
Zendesk pricing, 2021 to 2026: the frozen sticker and the moving bill
Support Team has cost $19 a month since at least 2021, one of the only unmoved stickers in our five-year archive. That is not the same as an unmoved bill. Over the same years the Suite ladder became the product Zendesk actually sells, a Growth tier quietly left the visible lineup, and the AI meter and the add-on stack arrived beside the seat price. The sticker froze; the bill learned to move sideways.
Capture by capture, the $19 holds: 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026. Six years, one number.
What moved instead:
- The Suite became the pitch. In 2021 the entry Suite plan was $49; today Suite Team is $55 and Suite Professional at $115 wears the "Most Popular" badge. The plan Zendesk steers you toward is six times the plan it advertises from.
- A tier disappeared. Suite Growth is gone from the visible lineup in the 2026 capture, surviving only as leftover data in the page itself at $89 a seat. Tiers do not always get retired loudly.
- Support-only got quieter. Zendesk used to give Support plans their own pricing page; that address has redirected since September 2025, and Support Team now sits as the cheapest card on the main page.
- The meter arrived. Outcome-based AI billing landed in the 2025 model change and is now attached to every plan, with the add-on stack alongside it.
If you compared Zendesk's advertised entry price in 2021 and again today, you would conclude nothing had changed. Almost everything about the bill did.

What a 5-person team pays
Costed for a five-person team on annual billing:
| Plan | Per agent | 5-person team, monthly |
|---|---|---|
| Zendesk Support Team | $19 | $95 |
| Zendesk Suite Team | $55 | $275 |
| Zendesk Suite Professional | $115 | $575 |
| plus Copilot on any of the above | $50 | +$250 |
| Drag Starter | $12 | $60 |
| Drag Plus | $18 | $90 |
| Drag Pro | $24 | $120 |
Five people on Suite Professional is $575 a month, or $825 with Copilot attached, against $120 for the same team on Drag's most expensive plan. The Copilot row uses Zendesk's own published add-on price. The AI meter is deliberately not modeled here, because Zendesk does not publish a per-resolution rate and we will not put a guessed number in a table. Whatever it comes to, it sits on top of every figure in this column.
When Zendesk is the better fit
Price is one axis, and Zendesk is the reference product in its category for good reasons:
- You need real enterprise ticketing. Formal SLAs, approval workflows, sandbox environments, custom agent roles, governance that survives an audit. Zendesk has all of it and most alternatives have none of it.
- Support is a department, not a duty. If you run tiered queues across voice, messaging, social, and email with dozens of agents, Zendesk's omnichannel depth and routing are worth paying for.
- The ecosystem is the point. A very large app marketplace, mature APIs, and a consultant network mean almost any integration you need already exists.
We say the same on our Zendesk alternative page. The honest summary: Zendesk is priced for the company it is built for, and most teams reading a pricing page are not that company.
The Drag comparison, plainly
If you got this far, you are pricing Zendesk seriously, so here is the direct version, starting with Zendesk's own words: Support Team is "for teams that have outgrown a shared inbox." Most teams reading a pricing page like this one have not, they have outgrown forwarding and CC. Drag is the shared inbox those teams were told to outgrow, in the Gmail they already use: $18 with AI included and no meter, $24 at the top of the whole range, against a Zendesk bill that starts at $19 but is built to become $115 plus add-ons plus overage. If you genuinely need enterprise omnichannel ticketing, Zendesk is the category's reference product and priced like it. If you need your team's email handled well, you can verify every number on this page against the archived pricing pages it cites, and try the alternative free for 7 days, no card.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Zendesk cost in 2026?
Zendesk's published plans are Support Team at $19 per agent per month, Suite Team at $55, and Suite Professional at $115, all on annual billing. Monthly billing is $25, $69, and $149 for the same plans, roughly 30 percent more. Suite Enterprise is quote-only. Add-ons are separate: Copilot at $50 per agent per month, the Workforce Engagement Bundle at $50, and Contact Center at $83.
Does Zendesk charge per AI resolution?
Yes, but not from the first ticket. Every plan includes an allocation of automated resolutions, and Zendesk meters what you use beyond it. An automated resolution counts when its AI closes a conversation with no live-agent involvement. Zendesk does not publish the overage rate on its pricing page or in its documentation; third-party reporting puts it around $1.50 to $2.00 per resolution, so ask for the rate and your allocation in writing before signing.
Does Zendesk have a free plan?
No. Zendesk offers a free trial but no free tier, and it has never had one. The closest thing is Zendesk for Startups, which gives eligible early-stage companies a 6-month trial of the Suite for up to 50 agents. If a permanently free option is what you need, our guide to free Zendesk alternatives covers the routes that actually cost nothing.
What is the cheapest Zendesk alternative?
For Gmail teams, Drag: shared inboxes in the Gmail you already use, from $12 to $24 per user per month with AI included and no meter, against a Zendesk bill built around Suite tiers, add-ons, and metered AI. If you want to survey the wider field, our guide to the best Zendesk alternatives compares the leading options.
